Here's to the ladies who lunch bunch!

Recently, friend and designer Johanna Pockar introduced me to my talented new friends, Sue and Kim, at Metheny Weir Painted Finishes (on Larchmere, in Cleveland).

I invited them all for lunch and we put our best faces on
for the festive Halloween salon!
The Victorian Masks
were really quite fun.

But the story continues...

When I first was introduced to Metheny Weir...I had a crazy idea...
I had two chairs that I wanted to give second lives to.
... and after meeting them and convincing them it might work...
I wanted to also bring their unique process to light.

They were a little shy but game!
We got together and recorded a couple short videos...
Watch them turn two chairs of mine into
dream pieces, with Chalk Paint.

THE PEOPLE!
At dinner the other night, Negative comments were made regarding Severance Town Center and the surrounding area. And it blew my mind... because I happen to know it is a wonderful neighborhood. It is the people who make the difference.

Not only do I live in the area but earlier that week while putting together a copy/print project at Office Max with Cyndi, my go-to-gal: kind - professional - knowledgeable.

So, "could I take your picture because you have been so great!?"
The answer was.......

...Breaking bread with friends and family is a wonderful thing!
I am so grateful I live in Cleveland Heights. Last week, was a particularly cold & rainy autumn day. I was feeling the need of a little comfort... hot coffee and my favorite oatmeal raisin cookie from On The Rise! This destination is one of many special businesses catering to the quality of lifestyle that is unique to Cleveland Heights. So, if you're feeling kind of kneady, then stop by On The Rise and take home a delicious bread!

In this short video, you get a personal look into the community atmosphere!

Whilst chatting with an old friend, about days of past...

Actually, these pictures are the current creations of my dear friend Ricki Englehaupt. When I was Chairman of DIFFA Cleveland (Design Industry Foundation Fighting AIDS), Ricki and I worked together on a number of successful fundraisers.

I ran into her this past week in Shaker Heights at the recent
Dick Russell Liquidations Estate Sale!
Ricki told me that many of the fabrics she used in these
creations were from my estate sale, earlier this year...
spooky indeed!

We are already talking about new ways to feature her works.

...and Denim is IN! If you don't agree: "boo hoo."
